DIY Vintage Scrapbook

hey guys! another tutorial! yay! so, this time i'm making a scrapbook for 2012. as 2012 is my last school year, i'll be senior. sweet 7teen. haha, and also i got an idea to make a vintage, antique style scrapbook, as i LOVE dark vintage, rock stuff, bla bla. so, hope you like it!

1. what you'll need is:
-scissors
-glue stick
-pen/pencil (in case)
-any type of vintage picture ( mine is, vintage map and vintage letter)
-hard card (for the cover)
-patterned paper
-a lot of A4 paper

2. first cute out an alphabet forming any words of your choice. i cut out words MY LIFE. and the paper that i used is my school book's cover. it has a nice brown colour, and it's slightly hard, after all it's recycle paper. looks nice with my vintage theme.

3. next prepare the cover. i made my own scrapbook's cover. i paint my cover using poster colour. and i made the bow on the top of the cover my self. check it out here DIY Vintage Lace Bow.

4. cut out the picture that you desire. i put the map on the very left of my cover. 1/3 of the cover. and i cut out some ribbon to put it across the cover, diagonally.

5. paste the ribbon, and stick the vintage letter picture overlapping the ribbon. just to show some creativity.
blah~

6. next taking the alphabets and some of them i print it out from the computer. and a piece of paper that o made them look old. here's the link DIY Old Paper using Coffee. if you want to makes the old paper.
stick them together where ever you want. your choice, your creativity.

what i did here is, i cut out AWESOME words from the old vintage paper that i made, and my D.O.B. i also overlapping the words my awesome life over the piece of the old vintage paper.

i also cut out the piece of the paper, and wrote my weird name on them. and i stick it at the bottom of the cover.

i also accessorize them using my black bow and some ladybird paper clipper.

i punched the edges of the cover so that i can put a paper in there, and using a ring to secure the punch's holes. i put the patterned paper that i cut out from a gift wrapper into the A4 size inside the scrap book. i really hate to tear the wrapper. i cry watching other people do that. so i use them back.

this is the finish product! you can add more sticker, ribbon, on the cover. i'm gonna put scary goth girl picture. aha! bye bye :)

P/S: DIY lip stain coming up! don't know when but i got the idea!

DIY Old Paper using Coffee

hey guys! so this is the tutorial on how to make your own antique, vintage, old, paper using coffee :) i really like antique and vintage stuff and i made this paper because i want to use it on my scrapbook. i will post the scrapbook making, later. :) so, enjoy !

1. what you will need is:
-a paper you want to stain
-a hot water in a mug
-instant fine grind coffee
-a tray
-an oven (150degree celcius)
-paper towel

2. first, pour the coffee that you already mix with the hot water on top of the paper. and let the paper soak the colour of the coffee for a while.

3. next, taking a fine grind coffee, sprinkle on top of the wet paper, and let it set for a minute.

4. dab the excess coffee with a paper towel, and sprinkle the coffee grind some more, the more you sprinkle it the more ancient the paper looks like.

5. put the tray with the paper in the oven and let it dry for 3-5 minute. the edges should be a little darker, and slightly burn. that's what we want.

6. take out the paper, and if it's still wet, use a hairdryer to accelerate the drying process.

and this is what its looks like. i'll be using this on my next DIY how to. so, till then :) byebye

DIY Glittered Sneakers

Hey guys, so this is my first DIY how to. and today i decided to make a glittered sneakers. using my old sneakers that i got and a glitter powder that i bought for about 2$. so i want to spice up the white rubber on the front of the sneakers as i saw the glittered sneakers in the Confession of a Shopaholic's movie. it's really cute! and i want that sneakers on my feet as well! so i ran to the craft store and bought adhesive latex glue and silver glitter powder. and BAM!!!

This are the steps on how i made them <3

1. What you will need is,
-Sneakers or any type of footwear
-Fine glitter powder
-Duct/musking tape
-Various size of art brushes
-Adhesive latex glue or PVA glue (dry-clear)
-Scissors

2. Start with mixing the glue with the fine glitter powder. the reason i used fine glitter powder, is, i found it's really help to 'pop' the glitterness and also the coarse glitter powder might not do the best with covering the entire place that you want to glitter it up. i doesn't have a particular portions for the glue and the glitter. i just approximate the amount of the glue that just enough to cover a pair of my shoes.

3. Makesure to cover the edges of the shoes using the duct tape, so that the glitter will not ending to be at the place you don't want. taking the art brush, and start to apply the glue mix on to the shoe. and in my case, i like to put it at the very front rubber that covered the toe. just apply it until the white rubber are disappear. don't worry if it's looks sloppy.

4. With the glue mix is still tacky and wet, dust the glitter on top of it until the glitter is covering the white part of the glue. this step is important as we want the glitter to be really covering up the shoes and leave no gap.

5. To secure the glitter, apply the glue mix again just so the glitter will stick permanently. don't have to worry about the colour of the glue as the glue will end up clear and transparent as it's dry, giving the glitter part of the shoes glossy finish.

6. Taking the fine brush you got, load it with the glue mix

7. Apply the glue mix on the shoe lace's ring. you don't have to dust the glitter powder and apply the glue mix in this step. just simply coat the ring and wait for the glue to become transparent. the left is only the glitter stick on the ring, if the amount of the glitter is not enough covering the ring, keep apply the glue mix until you get the opaque glitter covered.

8. And this is how my shoe lace's rings look like. don't worry about the glitter being all over the place. i just sweep it using the dry brush. or using hair dryer. (haha)

9. Yesss i knowww. the glue is really taking a lot of time to dry. i'm really hungry at that time, and i haven't even get my shower yet. it's really hot and sweaty at that time because i turn off the fan so that my room will not turn into lady gaga's room covered by glitter. so i used my hair dryer, to accelerate the drying process. and it's works great! ~~

Tadadaaaa~~~ looks really nice isn't it!!! i can't wait to wear it in public. if i do, i'll snap some pict of me wearing the shoes, and upload it here. :)

oh yeah, the remaining glue mix. i apply it on the plain silver rings that i have. well the ring get discoloured  and turns into green 'yukkss'ish in colour, daaa. then i have this idea, isn't it adorable? huhahuhaa

P/S: i'm happy :)
